John Foudy, Lucas Buchanan, Michael Farley, Vijay Gottumkkula and Dana Hutchison were eager to have extraordinary impact on the lives of Boise State students and honor their one-time professor, Claude Spinosa.

So, these alumni donors – all employees of Exxon Mobil in Houston – pooled their gifts to the university, leveraged their employer’s generous 3-to-1 matching gift program and created the Claude Spinosa Presidential Endowed Scholarship.

The establishment of this full-tuition scholarship for geosciences students was an effective way to create lasting tribute to a college professor who influenced each of them during their days at Boise State and do something extraordinary for Boise State students that they couldn’t have done individually.
